City of Tillamook Community Garage Sale Day
Saturday, June 7

  • Free garage sale permit to anyone who wants to have a garage sale on that day.

  • You must come in to Tillamook City Hall, 210 Laurel Ave., and fill out a garage sale permit that will enable you to be included on the list of citywide garage sales for that day.

  • The cut-off date to fill out a permit is Tuesday, May 27, by 4 p.m.

  • The list will be posted in the Headlight-Herald, the Tillamook Shopper, KTIL, the city Web site, Tillamook County Library main branch and Tillamook City Hall.

Heavy equipment has begun excavating the area next to City Hall and across from the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum for the downtown transit and visitor center.
A new driveway for buses to enter the transit center from Third Street behind City Hall is under construction.
Work Under Way on Town Square Visitor Center

Construction of the Tillamook Town Square Transit and Visitor Center has begun. The building, on approximately .14 acres at Second Street and Laurel Avenue next to City Hall, will serve as the central transit center for all Tillamook County Transportation District bus routes. In addition, it will provide an indoor waiting area, a manned visitor center, public restrooms and other amenities. Major funding for the project came from a $550,000 ConnectOregon grant plus $79,000 from the City of Tillamook and $105,000 from the Tillamook County Transportation District. City and transportation district officials expect the project to be completed by mid-August.
