City Recorder
The City Recorder, Bernadette Sorensen, holds one of three key staff positions spelled out in the city charter. According to the charter, the Recorder is assigned to administer, plan and direct the accounting, payroll, and financial management functions of the city and maintain all the official city records.
She also handles a range of other duties. She produces the monthly financial statement, assists the City Manager in preparing the annual budget, serves as administrator of the Municipal Court, helps with development of court operational policies and serves as Court Bailiff.
She oversees all city banking activities, assists with management of the city’s investment portfolio, oversees accounts receivable and payable, as well as payroll and human resources. She takes the minutes at City Council meetings and serves as clerk to the Council.
She is responsible for managing city records and archives, handles public records requests and serves on two city committees: the Beautification Committee and the Personnel Committee. |
