To stimulate business and investment as well as citizen pride, the City of Tillamook has established a loan program to assist businesses and residents in sprucing up the appearance of building exteriors and improving sidewalk safety.
Under the program, loans of up to $5,000 may be obtained to make exterior improvements such as signage, awnings, new paint, landscaping and flower baskets, banners and new sidewalks and curbs. Eligible applicants include businesses and residents located within the city limits.
A pre-application screening is required. Once that is completed, the loan application can be completed and submitted to the city for review along with a $60 credit report fee and a $150 loan application fee. Fees are non-refundable.
Under the ordinance, pre-application reviews must be completed by city officials within 45 days of the date the pre-application is completed. During the pre-application process, officials must determine whether the application conforms with the city’s design review guidelines or the city’s sidewalk ordinance.
When the pre-application is approved, the applicant must complete and submit a loan application. Financial reviews must be completed within 30 days.
