Dog Licensing

All dogs over the age of six months must be licensed. Licensing fees are collected annually and are due every January. The annual license fee for a dog that has not been spayed or neutered is $10. The fee for a dog that has been spayed or neutered is $5. The fee for a dog owned by a senior citizen (proof of age required) is just $3.75. There is no license fee charged for service dogs. If your dog loses his or her tag, a replacement tag may be obtained at a charge of $3. Licenses that are paid late (after Feb. 15) are subject to a $3 late fee. There are no discounts for multiple or fertile dogs. You may download a dog license application here or pick one up at the Police Department.

When you apply for a license, remember to include proof of current rabies vaccination and of spay/neuter. The license period may exceed the rabies inoculation by no more than three months.
