Notice is hereby given that the Tillamook City Council will hold a public hearing, and take both written and oral testimony, for the proposed Right-of-Way (ROW) vacation of a 60’ by 210’ portion of Elm Avenue between Front Street and First Street within the City of Tillamook. This application for ROW vacation came to the City Planning Department on June 15, 2026, at which time the public hearing was set for August 17, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at Tillamook City Hall.

The purpose of this hearing will be to receive citizen input on the proposed street ROW vacation in the City of Tillamook, Tillamook County, Oregon described as:

To vacate a 60’ by 210’ section of Elm Avenue between Front Street and First Street within the City of Tillamook. Adjacent properties are tax lots 1S1025AC01800, 1S1025AC1900, and 1S1025AC1901 to the west, tax lots 1S1025AD01000, and 1S1025AD01100 to the east.

This proposed street vacation is requested for the private use of the subject ROW and to mitigate safety concerns of public access in this industrial use area.  The proposed use of the vacated street ROW is for continual use of Coastwide to operate heavy equipment from both sides of the street without public access interference causing safety concerns.  Any future plans to close access if this vacation request is approved would need to be reviewed by the City to accommodate all utility, and emergency vehicle access to all adjacent properties when necessary.  Any utility access easements will be kept in place if approved.
